Liver Czar Appointed to Tackle Alcohol Culture in London Towne


London is the capital of the only developed country in the world - with an increase in liver disease from drinking.

...figures show that in 2008, 16,087 people died from the disease. That is up by 12% in three years.

But 95% of cases are preventable and it will be role of the Department of Health's new clinical director for liver disease, who will be named later, to reverse the explosion of cases.
